5 Easy Reading Books You Need To Check Out

Technically it’s four easy reading books since the fifth book mentioned isn’t one you read! However, over the past few months I have been really enjoying winding down in the evenings with a nice light book and I’ve been making my way through these five that I thought I’d share with you guys to check out because I am loving them!

Lips – Natasha Devedlaka-Price*

I love beauty books so much, they’re such light reading and are full of new and interesting things to try! The book is broken down into three sections: lip care, lip essentials and the colours. The photography in this book is incredible and so well photographed and it’s full to the brim of such interesting looks to do with your lips. It teaches you ways to make your lips look fuller, all about lip liner, lipstick formulations and how to remove lip stains. There is so much in this little book!

New York Through A Fashion Eye – Megan Jess*

Ever since I have been little I have idolised New York. I get it from my dad’s love of the place and seeing it in person two years ago after hearing about how magical it was my whole life was breathtaking. Things that blow my mind about New York is: the huge mixture of cultures, the sense of freedom, how busy it is, the lights, the architecture and the fashion and food.

The book is so beautiful and the page edges are gold! It features an entire book of Megan’s illustrations that really bring the pages to life. She takes you through the famous places of New York, telling you a little about each things and shares with you her favourite places to shop, eat, sleep and play! I honestly live for this book and anyone who is interested in New York and the beauty of it needs this book.

I chose the New York one but for those of you who love Paris fashion you will love the Paris one she also has and if you like Coco Chanel, she has one dedicated to the fashion icon too!

A Mindfulness Guide For the Frazzled – Ruby Wax*

I had never really gotten on the hype of self help books before but this book has thrown me in at the deep end and now I really want them all. The mindfulness guide for the frazzled because it’s relatable and real. She feels the things I feel and it’s so easy to read and at times I found myself giggling and full of ‘ah yes’ moments and things began to click into place. She makes you realise everyone feels frazzled and stressed and has their moments just like you and I and she shows us how to de-frazzle for good by making simple changes that give us time to breathe, reflect and live in the moment. I never realised a book could help me so much until this gem came along!

The Happiness Code – Domonique Bertolucci*

‘Ten keys to being the best you can be’. This book is so incredibly empowering and motivational. It takes you through ten simple keys and real life examples to help you be the best you can be. It covers topics lik:

*Take charge – the principle of choice

*Let it go – the principle of acceptance

*Live for now – the principle of presence

*Expect the best – the principle of optimism

*Back yourself – the principle of belief

*Get out of the way – the principle of permission

*Be grateful – the principle of abundance

*Give all you can – the principle of generosity

*Kep it up – the principle of commitment

*Be Brave – the principle of courage

The quotes in this book are what really provoked my mind. I’m a woman of words and it’s crazy what a quote can click for me such as ‘there is no such thing as ‘no choice’. There are always other options. Explore yours.’ Sometimes life can overwhelm me and I think I’m going to be stuck how I am forever but it’s not the case and this book has helped me make some changes for a happier life and I’ve been implementing what’s in the book and I love it! Seriously, get this if you are into motivational books!

My Name Is Girl – Nina Cosford*

I featured this beautiful book from Nina in my ‘recently through the letter box’ post where I gave one away! I still love it and it’s the perfect coffee table book! It’s an illustrated guide to the female mind that is so relatable it’s crazy! It’s funny and humorous and will keep you flicking through the pages wanting more! The illustrations are beautiful and really set the scene and it covers all aspects of the female mind!

I’m all out of fresh books to be reading so please let me know down below your all time favourite book because I need to stock up my bookcase!
