Bloggers Photography Club…Exciting News, Big Project

I’m abit fearful of this blog post because it’s one of those moment where you think it’s the best idea ever and you’re so inspired but then nobody else feels it and don’t want to join ha! Hopefully, that’s not the case here when I explain a little more about the title of this blog post.

Considering I’m a portrait photographer in my free time (what little free time I actually have!) it’s safe to say I have a passion for photography and I’m a very visual person. Whilst I love blog photography – you guys know how I’m always trying to make my blog photos better and better. I’ve lost touch with my love to just go outside with my camera. My camera is lucky to see the light of day outdoors these past few months so I knew I needed to change that. I need a new creative outlet and become inspired by others with the same interest as myself. People who want to grow and get better and people from all over the place, doing the same thing and having fun.

I wanted something that was kind of different to blogging, somewhere I can be creative and I’ve not seen anything at all like this done yet in the world of blogging. Of course there is photography clubs everywhere but I bet there isn’t a BLOGGERS one! haha

In comes Bloggers Photography Club.

This is for anyone. I don’t care if you’ve never taken a photo before or if you are the best photographer around I don’t care if you don’t have a dslr and use an Iphone. Everyone in this club is equal and we are all here to learn and be inspired by other people and get better at photography. I’m not the best photographer. Oh god, I’m really not. I do have the passion and hunger to be creative which helps!
Bloggers Photography Club is going to be a series of blog posts which will be following a different theme every fortnight. I was going to do weekly or monthly but I didn’t want each challenge to drag out too long, but I didn’t want it too short either so twice a month it will be!

The topics are going to vary so much every week. Topics such as:

Each topic will have two weeks to be completed. You will go out with your camera and use the topic for your interpretation and inspiration. So the ‘love’ topic would be your interpretation of love. The plan is to just try and be creative, try new things and push yourselves.

Once you have taken your photo then it’s time to upload it to our group board (please complete the typeform which has the link to the Flickr group. In this Flickr group board will be everyone in the club, all uploading their images for you to look at. I want to create a community of people who want to help and learn so we will create discussions on there where we talk about equipment, styling, photography terms, photography hacks and getting to know us all some more. On the photos there will be places to leave your comments, your feed back and what you think of the images and offer and tips you may have that can help the person who took the photo. It’ll be such a pretty visual place for us all to learn something new!

Then for the following weeks post, to introduce the new topic I’ll be showcasing some of the photographs that were in the Flickr group and sharing them with all my readers, along with their blog links so we can all get to know them some more.

I have also created a Bloggers Photography Club Inspo board on Pinterest for everyone to pin images to it that inspires them for the theme/topic that week. It’ll keep us inspired, motivated and it’s another platform to make friends on and see the photography style different people are drawn to and it’s something away from our blogs so you don’t have to do a blog post on it etc! Answer the type form Pinterest question so that I can also add you to that!

I’m so excited to be surrounded by like-minded people who are all wanting to do the same thing, learn and be creative. Photography is my passion and this little project I’ve set up is going to help me so much to get me out and about with my camera and try new things out of my comfort zone nad make friends with likeminded people.

I will also be doing some blog photography themed topics as I’m imagining this is an area others, like me enjoy trying to improve so I’ll make sure a topic on blog photography is done soon!

I’m very nervous that nobody will join in with this so I hope I’ve explained it well enough but if you have a single question big or small either tweet me, @tt_mirror or comment below and I’ll get straight back to you!!

Will you be joining in? Please say yes haha!

The typeform is below and will only take you two seconds to quickly answer the questions (I think there is only 5!)

Quick Edit!
Blogosphere magazine has contacted me expressing their interest in featuring some of your guys photography work in their magazine! I’m sure you’ll all of heard of the magazine and this is such an amazing opportunity! They will be keeping an eye on the Flickr group so make sure your signed up to that (fill out the type form below, the link is in there!) They are on the hunt for high quality portrait images and that’s everything we will be working on!! I’m so excited!

I am so inspired by this post! This is something I am so interested in, am I able to participate? Photography skills are something I lack but would love to improve on and make friends in the process! X

This actually sounds right up my street. Any excuse to get out there and take some photos. Only I can’t see any form to complete. ♥ HWY29
