When Spending Bans Lead To Spending Sprees…A Recent Haul

Does anyone else ever find that when they go on a spending ban, you either cave and buy everything in sight…or reach the end of your ban and still spend loads on stuff you’ve seen through your spending ban? Either way, I’ve never managed to make it through a month long spending ban..oopsie! I recently tried to restrict my spending because my collection is getting a little crazy…but I caved after a week and had a little Milani spree and then I felt guilty about failing my spending ban…and placed an order with Beauty Bay! There is no hope!

I have been a fan of Milani ever since I picked up some bits a few years back in New York. Now the obsession is real and you know who’s fault it is? Faye and Leanne! That’s it, Caitlin, deflect your shopping addiction onto your two favourite bloggers ha! They have been sharing so many beautiful Milani photos I just had to give in!

Amore Matte Lip Creme | 12 Loved – I first saw these when Faye shared an image and I loved the sound of it so it flew straight into my basket!  You guys know I love my brown tone nudes so I just had to have this! The colour payoff is amazing and the scent is gorgeous! It smells like vanilla, lasts all day long and is lightweight yet matte!

Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 foundation and concealer | I bought this to compare it with my Clinique 2-in-1 foundation and concealer to see if it would be a great dupe or not…more on that in another post! Pale skin girls, be careful! I’m very fair skinned and bought the shade 01 creamy vanilla and this is a tad too dark for my skin! I mix it with a white foundation and it’s totally fine though!

Baked Powder Blush | Luminoso – Nikki Tutorials is hands down to blame for this purchase! After watching her videos back to back for hours and knowing how much she loves this blush…how could I not? I have tried their baked blushes before in Dolce Pink and I love it! It’s a beautiful peachy pink colour.

Afterglow Strobelight Highlighter | 01 – Leanne…this one’s another that I totally blame you for! I just had to have this, the pattern alone was too pretty not to have and I’d heard such good things about these after seeing Leanne post this on Instagram. I like a blinding highlight if I’m going out but wanted a more natural highlight for days in the week for work and this fits the bill perfectly! It gives a lovely glow without being too heavy at all and I love!

Illuminating Face Powder | Beauty’s Touch – This one is totally down to Faye! I actually bought this before I realised I’ve no idea what to do with it. Impulse buys at it’s finest! With a quick ‘Faye how the hell do you use that pretty Milani face powder’ text she quickly (actually no, that girls the slowest at replying ha sorry Faye!) messaged my back to tell me how she uses it! It confused me because it was too illuminating to use as a full on blush but you can’t apply it all over your face because it’s too pink! Either way…it’ll be all over my Instagram as a blog prop no matter what, just look at that pattern!

Beauty Bay

I’d been wanting to try The Ordinary for a while now after seeing the hype and hearing about their products. The person responsible for one of these purchases in here is again, LEANNE! Can you tell I’ve been all over her blog recently! Seriously you guys should check out this post she did all about The Ordinary here.

The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% | £6.80 | I’m having major issues with my skin right now and when I took to Instagram for some tips on what I can do to help, everyone was suggesting acid toners to me! I then stumbled across Leanne’s posts and read more about them and knew I just had to have this product! It’s a blooming affordable brand I’ll give it that! I can’t wait to see if it makes a difference to my skin!

Matrix Oil Wonder Pre-Shampoo Oil |£10.50 | The packaging was the first thing that caught my eye here but once I read about this I just knew I needed to have it! My hair is in a state. So much so I’ve started applying coconut oil all over my hair on a Friday evening and leaving it like that until Sunday (I don’t leave the house like that of course!). The second thing which made me go oooh was that it was a pre-shampoo treatment! You apply from root to tip before shampooing your hair. I loved the idea of this because I get build up in my hair really bad. My hair is dead as a dodo and I need to start making more of a conscious effort to add volume to my flat hair and repair the damage done. Not to mention this smells of roses…and it’s for hair that lacks volume and is damaged. Could this be tailored anymore to me?! Let me know if you’d like a full review of this after I’ve been using it for a month!

I never realised just how much bloggers actually influence my purchases until I wrote this post! I want to know what you’ve been buying recently so comment below!

I can totally relate to the spending ban struggles! I’m trying to do one now but everything just seems so much more tempting! I’m desperate to try some The Ordinary products but am staying strong for now hahaha. But let’s see how long I last!

I went on a makeup spending ban in around October last year until the New Year, BUT, since, I’ve barely bought any makeup aha – who even am I anymore?! Milani is always a brand I’m intrigued to, and as it’s not available in the UK that easily, I’m yet to try it. Your photography in this post is beaut btw xxx

I really want to try this Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7%, it sounds a little bit stronger than my current (very gentle) acid toners, and I believe my skin to be ready for it at the moment! Lovely haul, Milani is definitely a brand I wish to explore!
