Summer Scents I Am Living For

I’m finding it hard to believe that we are currently halfway through 2017! I feel like I’ve blinked and poof, hello summer! In a nutshell, I steer clear of any spiced scents and opt for fresh, fruity and floral fragrances so I thought I’d share my favourite summer scented products with you all.

I won’t lie, I’m not a massive fragrance addict, I stick with what I know I love and probably try one new perfume a year but my collection isn’t extensive. I have the two fragrances I live for that I always repurchase and then I have one that I have recently tried and oh boy am I glad I tried it!

Vera Wang Lovestruck – I’ve been buying this perfume since I was 17 and still to this day it’s my nice and easy everyday spritz and away I go scent. For the 50ml bottle it’s £50 which for a perfume is pretty good and when there is a sale in boots etc this is always on offer so I grab it during those times. I cannot get enough of the bottle either, could it be any more loud and fun? It’s certainly not a handbag perfume that’s for sure but looks beautiful on my dressing table! Fragrance notes are pink guava, mandarin, tuberose, lotus blossom, sheek musk and precious wood.

DKNY Be Delicious – I have the 30ml bottle which is £37 in boots and the bottle shape makes it far more handbag friendly than most bottles. It’s a really crisp and clean scent which lasts all day long. You know when you want someone to be able to smell your perfume? This will do that! Top fragrance notes are apple, cucumber and grapefruit with middle notes of magnolia rose and violet and bottom notes of sandalwood and white amber. It’s a really fresh yet sexy kind of scent.

Clean Reserve Blonde Rose* – This is probably the priciest perfume I have ever owned but I think it’s so worth it and I will repurchase. I’ve already seen a few other scents from this brand that I want to try. A 100ml bottle is £79 and it’s exclusive to Space NK. This perfume is inspired by an escape to a warm bubble bath infused with rose petals and a daydream. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? It’s a feminine perfume scent but has an edge to it with notes of rose, peony, jasmine, musk & Sandalwood. This perfume is a dream and I have had countless comments on this when I’ve worn it. Not to mention how sophisticated and clean cut the packaging is of this product.

Who doesn’t love to smell good after a bath? Freshly shaven legs, new sheets and smelling like a dream is what I’m all about. I still love my citrus, sweet and fruity scents so you’ll notice a theme amongst these gems.

The Body Shop Virgin Mojito Body Sorbet – This beauty right here you need in your life! I cannot stand a sticky body moisturiser you know the one I mean? The ones where you have to waddle around like a penguin naked for twenty minutes until it’s absorbed into your skin! This is more of a gel moisturiser to it works into your skin so fast and the fragrance is so dreamy! So fruity! You’ll apply this and feel like you’re on a beach in the Caribbean surrounded by cocktails, white beaches and palm trees!

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Butter – If you don’t get a Soap & Glory set at Christmas is it really even Christmas? I love their original line and the sugar crush line and this is a little borderline waddle around for 30 minutes kind of body butter however for the incredibly scent I don’t mind. I use this one when I need some intense moisture in my skin especially during summer. Just a warning from my past experiences…DO NOT USE THIS AFTER SHAVING because damn that shit burns your freshly shaved legs!

So…? Vanilla Milkshake Body Mist – I cannot get enough of my So…? Mists at the moment! I have one in every place I could possibly ever need! It’s such a sweet smell and isn’t a sickly kind of vanilla, it’s delicious! The scent lingers really nicely and lasts on my clothing too I seriously spray this on everything and for £1.97…you really can’t turn that down!

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Spray – I love body sprays because they are just so easy to spritz throughout the day to just freshen up a little and it makes the world of a difference! Following on from the body butter mentioned further up this post it has the same scent. You can certainly smell the citrus in the spray as it’s strongly a lemon/lime fragrance and I cannot get enough of it!

Now a summer scents post would not be complete without sharing a few of my favourite home fragrances would it? I’m actually really picky when it comes to candles and I change my mind so often that I was constantly forking out money on the big Yankee Candles and other big candles and I’d never get through them because I’d get bored. Now I just opt for wax melts and when I’m bored I just switch it for another one!

Yankee Melt – Loves Me Loves Me Not – You guessed it…this little thing smells like your talking a walk through a field of daisy’s and it is b e a u t i f u l and really provokes childhood memories out playing outside in the fields.

Yankee Melt – Red Raspberries – Bet you can’t guess what scent this one has ha! It smells so juicy that when you give it a good old sniff your mouth waters! It’s so fruity and so true to it’s name that I always end up repurchasing this time and time again for those times where I want my room filled with a fruity fresh fragrance!

Yankee Melt – Summer Scoop – I know many bloggers who love this one and usually have the big candle version. I must admit, if I was to get a big candle version of any Yankee Candle..it’d be this one! It smells like ice cream! There is a real creamy smell to it with all the fruity summer vibes. It reminds me of summer as a kid getting a knickerbocker glory from the ice cream man!

The Body Shop Green Tea & Lemon Body, Room & Linen Spray – I’m so glad I decided to purchase this on a whim one time I was in the body shop and one of their sales assistants was haggling me rather annoyingly. I hate that, I really do! But in a panic to get out of the shop so she would stop bothering me I picked up this and gosh I’m so glad I did because I have repurchased this for the 5th time now and I will continue to do so! I keep this on my bedside table and just spritz my bed with it when I fancy, especially when I put fresh sheets on my bed! Seriously if you ever decide to get a room spray, make it this one!

That’s everything for the summer scents I am living for and I hope you enjoyed the mix of different kinds of scents! What kind of scent lover are you? Woody, spiced, fresh, fruity, floral? Let me know!

I have so many room sprays it’s ridiculous, love getting in to a nice smelling bed though. Vera wang perfumes are my favourite but I haven’t tried that one yet! Xx

Ah such a lovely post, I feel in the mood for fragrance shopping now! I recently bought a new perfume called Sunshine by The Library Of Fragrance, I can’t wait to start using it! I know how you feel about getting bored of one scent, I like to switch it up too and I love the idea of wax melts. The Body Shop are great for body butters and I’m tempted to by the room spray too! 🙂 xx
